Peptide Therapy

Proteins and peptides are fundamental components of cells that carry out important biological functions. Proteins give cells their shape, for example, and they respond to signals transmitted from the extracellular environment.

Certain types of peptides play key roles in regulating the activities of other molecules. Structurally, proteins and peptides are very similar, being made up of chains of amino acids that are held together by peptide bonds.

Peptides are more natural than steroids and are very safe. At Affirm Health Center, we provide high-quality, safe peptides from an FDA approved facility so you always know exactly what you are getting.

What Are Peptides?

Traditionally, peptides are defined as molecules that consist of between 2 and 50 amino acids, whereas proteins are made up of 50 or more amino acids. In addition, peptides tend to be less well defined in structure than proteins.

What Peptides Do We Use?

A signal peptide is typically a short peptide chain (around 30 AA chain.) We mostly use signaling peptides for a variety of purposes at Affirm. They are classified as precursors (safe) and they stimulate the body to engage in certain processes by binding to G-protein coupled receptors. Peptides activate proteins.

Thymosin Alpha 1 (TA-1)

TA-1 is an endogenous human peptide derived from Prothymosin. This helps to restore immune function, enhance cell-mediated immunity, and increase the efficiency of antigen-presenting cells.

Thymosin A-1 is effective for acute and chronic infections by helping to eradicate the unhealthy cells and stop the infection or cancer growth. This exhibits antibacterial, antiviral and antifungal properties.

Studies have shown that individuals fighting infection have a lower amount of circulating T A-1 and suppressed helper T cell numbers compared to healthy individuals. This is problematic, as the optimal immune function is vital to recovery from infection. Supplementation with T A-1 has the potential for great therapeutic benefit for patients looking to strengthen their immune system and those suffering from an infection or autoimmune disease.

AOD-9604 Advanced Obesity Drug

AOD-9604 was discovered in the 1990s by Dr. Frank Ng and others. This is a 16 amino acid peptide fragment of human growth hormone. AOD-9604 promotes repair and weight loss without rising IGF-1. This peptide is part of HGH without the anabolic effect or muscle-building effect. The goal of this peptide is to stimulate lipolysis and inhibit lipogenesis.

Over time, AOD-9604 lowers body fat by triggering the fat release from obese fat cells predominantly more than lean ones. This mimics the way natural growth hormones regulate fat metabolism with no adverse effects on blood sugar or growth.

AOD-9604 has been shown to have very favorable cartilage repair and regenerative properties, especially when paired with peptide BPC 157.

MOTS-C Insulin Sensitivity

MOTS-C promotes fatty acid metabolism in the liver and promotes metabolic flexibility and homeostasis. This helps regulate mitochondrial energy, helps with weight loss, improves exercise capacity, helps prevent osteoporosis, and improves glucose regulation. This also protects against age and diet-dependent insulin resistance and obesity.

MOTS-C targets muscle and regulates metabolism via the folate-purine AMPK pathway. MOTS-C mediates metabolic homeostasis.

Sermorelin, Ipamorelin/CJC-1295 and Ibutamoren

These increase the natural production of Growth Hormone and stimulate the immune system. They also improve physical performance and increases protein synthesis. Some additional benefits include:

  • Increase plasma IGF-1
  • Improve sleep quality
  • Help decrease body fat
  • Increase lean muscle mass, strength and endurance
  • Help reduce liver uptake of glucose
  • Increase calcium retention, and strengthen and increase the mineralization of bone
  • Contribute to the maintenance and function of pancreas cells

BPC 157 Healing Peptide

BPC 157 is a healing peptide which accelerates wound healing for muscle, ligament, tendon, and nerve. This peptide is anti-inflammatory and has been shown to decrease pain in damaged areas.

BPC 157 works by increasing growth hormone receptors and promoting the outgrowth of tendon fibroblasts, cell survival under stress, and the migration of tendon fibroblasts. It can also improves digestive function

It has also been shown to help in Inflammatory bowel disease while also protecting and healing inflamed intestinal epithelium (leaky gut).

BPC 157 also protects the liver from toxic insults (alcohol, antibiotics, etc) and promotes healing.

Why Do We Use Peptides?

Peptides are cutting edge and are always evolving. There are new peptides constantly in production which show a lot of promise. As they continue to evolve, we see a bright future for peptides.

Affirm aims to be on the front-end of new developments in the future.

Why Choose a Licensed Compounding Pharmacy for Peptides?

It is important to purchase peptides through a licensed, US-based compounding pharmacy for various reasons. Pharmacies are monitored and regulated by the State Board of Pharmacy and Licensed Compounding Pharmacies follow the necessary laws and regulations in place to ensure your safety.

A prescription is required to purchase compounded peptides or medication and the ingredients are pharmaceutical grade. Compounding of these peptides is being performed under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist. Purchase of raw materials is from FDA registered facilities which ensure that we are buying a quality ingredient from an FDA inspected facility.

A certified lab and clean room which is compliant with both USP <795> and USP <797> standards are being used to compound your medications. Compounded sterile preparations are being tested through a third-party analytical lab for potency, sterility, and endotoxin. Compounded Preparations are quarantined and not dispensed until all testing is received back from the third party analytical labs.
